Ålgård square

With good processes, cooperation and participation, Ålgård center has been transformed from a disused industrial area to an attractive meeting place.

ABOUT:

Ålgård center now offers experiences and activities for all age groups both day and night. The project has a holistic sustainable idea that has drawn nature into the cityscape and at the same time increased the area’s resilience to climate change. The project has had good participation processes from children and young people, business and the elderly.

LIGHT:

Light should give focus to what is on a human scale, and at the same time clarify the space between the streets on each side of the square. In the many small different rooms, the lighting should contribute to rhythm and emphasis with low-placed lighting integrated in the landscape design.
