The goal for Kirkenes masterplan is to develop a storytelling, inclusive and stimulating city.
ABOUT: Kirkenes is one of the northernmost cities in Norway, and as all the other cities above the arctic circle has a unique daylight and climatic conditions.
LIGHT: As part of the light plan, ZENISK has among other things developed a lighting calendar, that together with some «lighting tool boxes» allows the future city developments to grow in a consistent and planned manner. These tools can be used to activate, emphasize, promote and engage tourists and residents during the long times of darkness.
