Norwegian Tourism Museum, Balestrand

ZENISK designed a tailored artistic lighting for the museum’s facade. The motif is a stylized interpretation of the view from the fjord on villages and mountains in Balestrand.

ABOUT: The Norwegian Tourism Museum is located next to Kviknes Hotell in Balestrand. The museum opened in the spring of 2016 and is a magnificent exhibition and operating building that was sawn out of the rock wall. The building has a closed concrete facade facing the street.

LIGHT: ZENISK designed an artistic facade lighting for the museum. Since we are in the inner fillet of the Norwegian nature experience, ZENISK proposed to project the view into Balestrand from the fjord directly on the concrete facade. The motif is a stylized interpretation of a photo of fjords, villages and mountains in Balestrand. The design is technically tailored with 4 gobo projectors mounted on the street light masts.
